League 2 Suggestions

No harm in starting this thread now. Plenty of time to work out what we want for league 2.

Possibly even another league on a different day?

I love the Porsche Cup mod discussed in the other thread so im gonna throw that straight in there.

If we're going to do a mod league remember we have to build a complete installer before the season starts and make it available via torrent or http.
So please provide links here and remember to please only suggest very high quality addons/mods. Too many junk suggestions could cripple this process.

If I may suggest one thing, maybe something like FIA GT 2008 cars would be nice for the league 2? ( here is an example mod -> http://www.simracingworld.com/files/download/2395-fia-gt-2008-gtr-evolution-mod/ )

And all in all I think there should be some more strict rules written, because the more people will come, the more chaos might occur But I'm no expert on such matters, so it's just my loose thoughts.

I have repacked all the mods required into one singe file for you guys to test:

The mods I repacked are
1. Porsche 997RSR and Ferrari F430 v2_1 by scca1981
2. 997RSR & F430 GTC GT2 Performance pack
3. GT Open 2008 GTA Cars MOD for GTR Evolution by Ful4n0 (needs the above two mods).

The mod uses the Porsche 997, Ferrari F430, plus the Marcos and Sunred from GTR-Evolution and all the cars get skinned to the real life 2008 championship.

I also added the Audi RS4 GT2 car but to keep it real we do not have to include this.

NOTE: The Ferrari is faster than the other cars if you have the revs too high and the radiator too closed, in which case it overheats. Therefore this series needs long races to make the other cars an even match for the Ferrari. One forty-five minute race would be good.

PS The mod includes two jpg files of the engine and torque curves for the 997 and F430.

1971 BMW 2002
1971 Opel Commodore GS 3001
1972 Volvo P1800 ES
1973 BMW 3.0 CSL
1974 Chevrolet Corvette

So we could have some mixed short and longer tracks for these?

We could even do a 1 car championship with 1 of the above?

PS, for those that have not got this expansion it is only £3.99 so it is only the price of going to McDonald's for a meal (lol)

Perhaps if we do GT, we could always use GTR2, most of us should already have it, and those who don't can always get their free codes, so that's my suggestion.

I have the retro pack. I have just retired from the C-ONline retro Max league due to lack of free time.

I still do Retro Thursdays at Racedepartment. The race this Thursday is Volvo Amazon and Volvo P1800 at Brans Hatch.

I suggest Retro Max and Retro Cool Mini with the retro max having a mandatory pit stop (self imposed). I would like to drive the retro mini due to no working pedals and lack of money to buy replacement.

We could also add Caterham 200. We could also add WTCC87 as long as it has a weight penalty.

Alternatively I would like a retro cool championship.

I would be happy to have retro and porsche on alternate weeks.

If people don't have the retro pack there are three cars that can race independent of the retro pack:
Nissan Fairlady, Nissan Skyline, and Mercedes 300SEL. They are all from the 1970's and lap the same times.

I can add them to my skydrive.

But to be serious, I think this is a great idea - historical league would be a great fun with all those crappy (comparing to current times) aerodynamics, grip, etc I vote for that!
There is only one question - is this retro pack really good, because I've heard that the only two "true to life" historical sim racing games are GP Legends and Historical mod for rFactor 1. Anyone could share some light about that Retro pack and compare it to those games I've mentioned?

I just downloaded the Honda Civic mod and went for a spin on Machwerk,
This car handles like a dream and i recommend evryone should at the very least go for a sunday drive on Machwerk with this car. It will blow you away.

I am sorry to be a barer of bad news but i think that you need to relook at the actual car, It is not a Honda Civic but it is actually the Peugeot 308 from STCC the game, it is only the Honda as if you look closely it has a honda badge and not the Lion from Peugeot...

Just my 2 cents worth: I'm not a Touring Car fan, so I'll keep watch on this thread to see if anyone might possibly maybe show some, or a little, interest in some RR1 action.

I am sorry to say that the Camaro will not be in this league, and this is only down to the fact that not all own Race-On expansion pack,

That list of cars is the full GT Sport set. What you see is what you get unfortunately.

The tracks are definitely debatable though.

Spa will be the only mod track. Apart from that try and keep it stock content.

We are debating a small break between the leagues too, something like 2 weeks and puttin 2 fun events in there.

All just ideas so lets have some feedback as we'r comin to the end of season 1.

I'd be interested in this (I'd prefer the Pros but the Sports are good. At least it's not Touring Cars)!!

This game has been around for years.
Whilst the stock content is excellent, I still don't understand why you choose it over the hundreds of car/series and track mods.

Why not do something a little more refreshing?
Different content, different race formats, etc ?

It is afterall an internal fun league.
