As we have already started League 2,
Thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about League 3,,

Some of you might have already heard that GTR3 is in beta and their is a chance the game will be released around Autum..

So till then we have the options of using either Race Series or even GTR2....

Please post all suggestions, as remember this is your community and all your ideas count..

But please make sure that any mods that you do suggest is working online, even though TR does do testing to make sure their are no problems with the mods whether they are cars or tracks....

I think GTR2 for now, we can always move to GTR3 for season 4.
We have the ALMS mod right?
The standard content is also pretty decent.
We need to either setup a torrent site, or a site where we can upload/download content specific for Twisted Racing needs.

I can provide us with a static web seed for torrenting our content, even ftp access and more.

Im not sure about using GTR2 as we voted and it really didnt go well for the title. Landslide springs to mind Smile
I wish people did like it as i think its an amazing platform for racing but thats life i suppose.

I think its a good time to start plannin our next league and/or Enduro.

Just which one should we plan first?

I think Race07 still for the next round also as people are getting used to it & the racing should be getting closer.
I'm liking standard content still to make it more accessible for newcomers...

My vote is for WTCC with Standard tracks... I know I know... boring you may say. But we all know the tracks & they are the most stable platform to race with.
Also, people seem to prefer these over any of the other cars & so recruiting new players will be easier.

yer i agree we shud do the wtcc, but instead of race 07 content how abt STCC2 content and all the stock tracks from that platform...

@ Prod yer i would like to see GTR2 being used again, as that is still a popular platform plus their are more tracks and cars available for it... but the community has to have their say!!!!

I don't mind touring cars again, for STCC I'd have to get the expansion pack Smile.
To be honest, I don't mind what we race.as long as we race, we could race lawnmowers and I'd be happy LOL.

Can I suggest that we mix endurance into the leagues, so we have our normal season, and the 1st Sunday of every month we have endurance to take a break from current league. Or each league have 2 endurance races and count for double points.

Think it's time for a pole again Smile

I would like Race07 please and all STCC circuits because I can not afford GTR3 and I was able to get GTR2 installed for free but it would not accept online account.

I would like these cars:
WTCC87 Alfa 75, WTCC87 BMW E30, and maybe the WTCC87 Volvo 240 from STCC2 if everyone has it...
League 3 discussions Volvo_game_01

Alternatively the The 1970's Mini Cooper production mod would go well at STCC tracks.

I don't think we should use Simbin Rerto expansion. If people need help with installing one of the free retro mods I posted i can do instructions, a video tutorial, or take remote access of their pc and install the mod for them.

If it has to be Race07 then I would like WTCC87 (Alfa 75 and BMW E30) vs Caterham 260. May need to add a bit of weight to the Caterham.

If it has to be GTR-2 then I need help getting my free version to work online. I got my free version of GT Legends to work online though.

See:
http://www.tacticalgamer.com/tactical-gamer-motorsports/152949-gtr-2-gt-legends-free-serial-keys.html

Here is one of my GT Legends videos (offline). This is the only circuit I have seen with a two way road.

Oh, i agree. I didn't mean the Simbin Retro expansion, just retro cars in general.

A late WTCC87 would be great too. Might be able to toss in the Mercedes 190e mod. Twisted Evil

I noticed the Nissan 240z Fairlady mod was 2 seconds quicker than the Retro Max cars. Maybe with 10% more horse power in the .ENG file it could keep up with the WTCC87 cars.

Maybe have some test races starting with Race07 content only (WTCC87 E30 and Alfa 75 and maybe Caterham. The Caterham could be matched to the WTCC87 cars by adding weight to the Caterham 260BHP. Alternatively use the Caterham 200BHP and add the weight to the WTCC87 cars.

Race07 content only will bring in the numbers and then maybe we could test some retro mods and retro download circuits.

The only problem with the Retro's is the mismatch in speed with the Retro Cool cars (Mini, Bmw, Volvo). The mini is by far the quickest, followed by the Volvo. The BMW doesn't even get a show in this class, outpowered & outhandled.

Retro Max was fine, I believe.

But, I'm keen for either STCC or WTCC87

I think we should stick to Race07 only to improve grids and use WTCC87 E30 and Alpha 75 on Race07 circuits for the first 7 events and then switch to a free (not simbin) retro mod on a historic or country road circuit.

With a bit of tweeking I could probably get the seven mods below to match the pace of WTCC87. The mods below are all free available from http://living-simracing.blogspot.co.uk and elsewhere. None of these mods need Simbin's retro pack.

Some of these mods have content ripped from other games so I do not think we need to ask permission just to change horsepower in .eng files to make all these mods lap the time times.

Commodore V8's

Escort V8's

Retro Plus (Escort and Fiat 131)

Mercedes 300 SEL

Nissan Failady

Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

GTL-mod 1.3 (the cars from GT Legends). Note there is no rain in GT Legends and this would be a fantastic opportunity to race the GT Legends 1970's cars in the wet.

Alternatively use each of the above mods in turn and maybe include the mod below.

The Mini Cooper production car from http://living-simracing.blogspot.co.uk/

mrsim presents you the slowest car ever released for Evo LOL.
You need the Retro expansion pack for the sounds.

UNQUOTE

I could purloin the sounds so we don't have to have the retro pack (but keep that quiet!) or maybe make my own but that is very time consuming I think (you can sytheresize them or record real sounds but you have to record the real car at various engine pitches and you also have to record transition noise (just clutch and diff in the FWD Mini) and wind/tire noises.

Also, Formula Ford is lots of fun and feels like the formula fords of 1980's and not that far from 1970's formula ford.

Here I drive firstly a red Merc 300SEL and then a Nigel Mansel F1 skin Formula Ford.

I hope the following circuits can be included in league 3:
Sebring (Modded Track)
Road AmericaGP (Modded Track)
Sugo 06 (Modded Track)
Interlagos (Modded Track)
Rouen Les Essarts (Modded Track)
Spa francorchamps 08 (Modded Track)

I hate learning circuits and never using them again and Sebring would be fantastic in one of the Retro Mods I listed above or maybe Formula Ford.

Here are some previes.

1. Interlagos online race at COnline using GTL-Mod 1.3 for race07

2. Interlagos online race at COnline using the Retro Expansion (USD/GBP/EUR 3.99 via steam)
I am in the red 'Coca-Cola' Camaro

3. Ruen short at Racedepartment using the Retro Expansion.
Ruen is visually stunning and this video is best watched full screen at 720 pixel.

Here I had to hold my esc key down and end my race early to avoid T-boning someone:
